South Holston Fishing Report
Water temps ranged from 59 degrees early in the morning to 63 degrees in our areas by the afternoon. We started off the morning with a worm in and hand and it was very slow. We switched over to a Long-A and a hard swim bait on flats, and caught some better quality. We had a few more blow ups on the Long-A til mid morning and had a lot followers on the hard swim bait throughout the day. As the morning progressed and the day warmed up, we slowed way down and caught several more 3 - 3.5 lbs smallmouth. Overall we caught close to 30 bass today with all but two being keepers, and all the keepers came on the worm, long-a, and hard swim bait. If you are not getting bit early on Saturday…don’t stress…there is an afternoon bite coming. Just stay focused and be methodical.
See you all Saturday, God Bless!
